You Get To… Part 2 (The One Where I Mean It)

You Get To… Part 2 (The One Where I Mean It)

Last week I aired the grievances. This week, against my better judgment, the positives.

  • You get to be challenged every day, stretching what you thought you were capable of and growing in ways never imagined
  • You get to go on stage in front of 300 women even though you are scared shitless, and you get to be so proud of living through the experience after
  • You get to meet some fascinating people you otherwise would never have the opportunity to rub elbows with (creating some major WTH out of body experiences)
  • You get to learn AI because someone has to figure out how to scale an army of agents, and that someone is now you
  • You get to create something great with your husband (other than children)
  • You get to learn what it’s like to not drink during the week. It’s amazing how much more shit you can get done. And really, you do not have a choice.
  • You get to celebrate the wins with your BF
  • You get to travel for work! Not the glamorous kind, the kind where you’re comparing manufacturers in Hong Kong at 11pm. But also, actually, China, Miami, Texas, and up and down the entire coast of California
  • You get to climb Mount Whitney and discover line dancing as ways to cope and outlets, anything other than work
  • You get some really awesome swag from brand collabs, which is good, because it’s currently replacing your entire skincare budget
  • You get to really dive deep into finances, not simply pay bills, but educate yourself and manage them. Spreadsheets are a personality now.
  • You get to learn boundaries, otherwise your entire life becomes one never-ending business meeting
  • You get to learn to be curious. Always. Thank God for AI.
  • You get to learn every aspect of running a business, and play a role, or at least a sounding board, in every decision, whether it’s inventory or the font on a hang tag

So yeah. You get to do it all again tomorrow. Last week that sentence felt like a life sentence. This week it just feels like Tuesday. Cheers.

We made it!!! Hoping this is foreshadowing for life….
